Wagner Heat Gun Kit HT 1100 Jun 20, 2011
By Sailor Sam Heat gun kit just arrived this morning, just 4 days after order- with super saver shipping too. I ordered this because I have french doors that have old cracked, peeling paint, and also several kitchen drawers in similar condition, which I want to take down to the bare wood to refinish. Already did the cabinet doors and front door using a propane torch, which is fast but dangerous and will char the wood in spots. Plugged in the gun and it was producing heat in several seconds, causes paint to bubble in 1-2 seconds - within several minutes I had removed the paint easily from an area 3"x18" - with no charring. It could be a few degrees hotter - but this is fine for what I need. The "wide mouth" attachment helps improve the flow of hot air to the right spots for paint removal. It's quiet, light weight and easy to handle - unlike a torch! Comes with a paint sraper attachment (but putty knife is better) and also included an additional wood-handled paint scraping tool with 5 different blades - nice bonus. Also came with a hard black plastic carrying case for the gun and attachments. There is no stand for it, but is designed so you can set it down on it's back, with the hot tip pointing upward -which works but isn't very stable. The heat gun is the HT 1000 model, but the picture showed the HT1100, but the specs are the same - odd though. I am very pleased with the gun and kit - and the price, so long as it keeps working! Probably not the tool for constant heavy duty work.

Works As Advertised Nov 08, 2010
By Enigma I got this version of the Wagner heat gun due to the extra accessories that come with it. Surprisingly it's not as loud as a blow dryer. Heats up quick and got the job done at resoldering circuit boards where the solder has to be remelted.
